Rehearsal Policies and Procedures

Attend all rehearsals You must be present for rehearsals every time you are called.  If there is an illness or a conflict a parent must email the teachers to let them be aware of an absence.  If there are habitual absences (more than 2) with or without excuses, the student may or may not be able to return to class.  This will be determined on a case-by-case basis depending on circumstances.  You will be responsible for checking your email and going to www.alktheatercompany.com to check the rehearsal schedule.      2. Give 100% at rehearsals We understand that we may ask some strange requests and that everyone has their own personal “best.”  “I don’t want to” is NOT an option in this class unless an acceptable reason is given. Have an open mind and listen to what directors tell you.  Be willing to try new things! 3.  Tools every Acting student needs Every actor should have the following items in their "toolkit" : - Character shoes (alternative- plain black dress shoes for men and tan or black low heels for women). - A binder of sheet music with marked cuts. This will be helpful when doing multiple auditions. - Headshots  Headshot Advice click here - Comfortable, fitted clothing for dance calls - Theatrical Makeup kit  Ben Nye Cream Kit - Highlighters, pencils and notebook for rehearsal notes Other items to consider: - Foundation undergarments for fast changes - a personal BlueTooth speaker for playing accompaniment for rehearsal and audition purposes - Dance tights or leggings - Monologue books with monologues from published plays

AUDITIONS

  Auditions for Disney's The Little Mermaid All Glendale Students, grades 9-12 grade, are invited to audition for Disney's The Little Mermaid on Monday, August 29 and Tuesday, August 30 at 3:30 p.m. Students are encouraged to bring a prepared piece of music, 1 minute in length, from a Disney style musical. An accompanist will be provided. Sheet music options are available on the call board of room 286. Callbacks will take place on Tuesday, August 30 at 5 p.m. and will consist of a dance call and cold readings from the script. Some characters may be asked to sing a selection from the show. Rehearsals will be after school, Monday through Thursday, ending no later than 6 p.m. each evening. Performances are on November 10-14 in the Glendale Auditorium.
